This is it. 22:22, the new Polo & Pan album, is finally out. Twelve tracks like so many dreamlike fragments, somewhere between celestial disco, sunny pop and electronic escapes. The Parisian duo carries on its sonic odyssey, true to its hedonistic signature, but with a hint of new gravity.
It features some colourful collaborations: Beth Ditto lights up “Petite Étoile” with her powerful voice, while Metronomy slip into “Disco Nap”, a soft, languid track. “Nénuphar”, co-written with the Mexican collective I.M YONI, is an invitation to let go, somewhere between gentle trance and sensory awakening.
Conceived as a poetic clock, 22:22 evokes the mirror hour, the moment when anything seems possible. It is an exploration of desire, balance and ecstasy, carried by ever more cinematic arrangements. Meanwhile, Polo & Pan are on a world tour, with standout dates at Coachella and Red Rocks.
With 22:22, Polo & Pan deliver a rich, elegant and accessible album, where every track opens a new door to somewhere both strange and familiar.
