Between albums, singles and tours, the French deep scene is gearing up for a busy year, so here is our list of 6 artists whose music is sure to rise among the hits of 2017.
Napkey
After a first EP, “Orange”, marked by euphoric acoustic melodies, Napkey has carved out an exemplary path through the top tier of the French chill electro scene. A journey that led him, among others, to cross paths with Tez Cadey, with whom he collaborated on “Keep On Waiting”, one of the tracks on the “Wall” EP, which gave his career a real boost. Now he is taking on a new challenge with the release of his very first album, “42”, a record marked by an abstract sonic and visual identity, every note of which brims with darkness and elegance. It is due out on 6 January.
Karlk
We met him last October. This deep house regular already has a truly remarkable track record, but his love of music leaves him no choice but to keep going.
“To you, young artist: persevere, never give up, your turn is coming soon, hard work always pays off in the end! KarlK.”
He told us he was seriously ill, suffering from an extremely rare condition known as “started project, never finished” syndrome. The only temporary remedies available to him were edits and remixes, but he finally seems to have found the miracle cure, as he has announced the release of a first album in 2017. Little is known yet about the exact release date, other than that it will come out at some point during the year.
Clément bcx
The original writer of one of 2016’s biggest hits, “Miracle”, which was covered by Julian Perreta, Clément Bcx is a young multi-instrumentalist and singer from the Oise whose potential remains very promising. There are no announcements for 2017 so far, but we are convinced he has some lovely surprises in store for us.

Ofenbach
“Be mine”, the new single from Ofenbach, is already climbing the charts in many countries and is also making its way onto several radio stations. The duo show great virtuosity through productions that blend deep and rock, which they mix at big events such as Virgin Radio’s famous Electroshock nights, drawing several thousand people. Having had the chance to be with them recently when they played Faust, we can guarantee they have total command of the stage.
Mozambo
Mozambo is a trio from Marseille who represent their home city brilliantly with their good mood and positivity, and a house sound they have made their own over time. Their journey is dotted with remixes and collaborations, with Kungs and Basic Tape among others. There is no EP or album from Mozambo just yet, but we can safely predict that in 2017 the group will undeniably share their creativity with us.
Raeve
The counter just keeps on spinning for Raeve, who is racking up millions of plays. The Nantes producer knows how to find every note and every sound that moves us, and while “The Swewtest Sin” and “Firefly” are fine examples, we are certain the year ahead will be an exceptional one, musically speaking, for him and for us.
Of course, let’s not forget the many other equally talented artists we will be sure to put in the spotlight throughout 2017.
