Some tracks leave an indelible mark from the very first listen, through sheer obviousness and intensity. “Save My Soul” by Bakermat, released on 6 September, is undeniably one of them. An addictive melody, lifted by AMANZI’s vibrant voice, that sweeps us into a whirlwind of emotions and good vibes. Now the duo Ampersounds has got its hands on this gem and reinvented it with a distinctive electro signature.
Ampersounds is the fusion of two worlds: that of Fred Falke, a legend of French house, and that of Zen Freeman, an English DJ with an avant-garde style. Their remix redraws the outlines of the original, injecting a new energy made of punchy bass and crystalline sounds. A breath of fresh air that makes you irresistibly want to lose yourself on the floor.
Already noticed for their bold take on Calvin Harris’s “Lovers in a Past Life”, Ampersounds is establishing itself as a must-know duo on the electro scene. On 19 October, they will play Amsterdam Dance Event alongside members of the Big Top Amsterdam label, founded by Bakermat himself.
