Boston Bun is back in business with a remix that means it. The Frenchman revisits All I Know, a Rudimental track featuring Khalid’s warm voice, and turns it into a hybrid version tailored for sticky July nights.
No cosmetic facelift here: Boston Bun takes the track seriously, stretches it, thickens it and brings it onto his own turf. That of an organic, textured house, where melodic pads rub shoulders with rhythms cut out for the club, even if it means pulling the track far from its drum & bass roots to better reveal its sensuality. The result? A version that grooves gently, without losing a drop of Khalid’s vocal emotion.
It isn’t his first release of the year (he unveiled a collaboration with Me & George at the start of the year), but it’s probably one of the most striking. A way of reminding everyone that Boston Bun hasn’t lost his touch since Mixed Feelings, his concept album where each track explored a tension, a contrast, a duality.
