With more than 482 million views since it was created, the Electro Posé YouTube channel has given rise to several big names in the music industry. Among them is Petit Biscuit, who was also the first artist signed to the channel’s promising label: Inside Records. Founded in February 2013 by Thomas Massimi…
Founded in February 2013 by Thomas Massimi, a former student at EDHEC Business School, Electro Posé has carved out a prime spot in the streaming industry, in France and internationally. Now followed by 1.19 million subscribers on YouTube, the music channel brings together the finest gems of electronic music with calm, dreamy rhythms. Deep House, Chillwave or Indie Pop: it is a broad, varied palette that has driven its success for more than seven years. And while the channel has become a reference for electronic music lovers, it is also an essential springboard for emerging artists.
That is why, building on four years of musical discoveries, Electro Posé launched its own label in 2016: Inside Records. A logical next step for its desire to support young producers and put them in the spotlight. With Petit Biscuit as its first signing, an artist the channel had spotted through his track “Sunset Lover” and who is now one of its biggest success stories, Inside Records has established itself as a leading player in its field. Warm, floaty melodies, sunny acoustic guitars and pitched vocals… Over the last few years, the label’s artistic direction has become considerably sharper, notably with around twenty talents added to its roster.
Backed since 2018 by Andrea Arnaud, formerly of Sony Music, the duo combines two different and complementary experiences: major and indie. Their daily work on a genre that is finding it harder and harder to get exposure since the rise of rap pushes the label to reinvent itself every day, to offer new sounds and to sign artists from different worlds. With a focus on French artists and a forward-thinking approach, Thomas and Andrea have firmly established themselves in the landscape of French independent labels.
Plüm, Kedam, Lonely In the Rain, Triomphe, but also Teemid, Zave, Emrod and Dovicente (…): all are signed to Inside Records. The record company’s mission is to support them in developing their artistic image, with recording and making videos, but also with promoting their projects to the wider public. And even if the label still seems young, the results speak for themselves, with more than 50 million streams across streaming platforms in 2019. A success explained, among other things, by the popularity of its YouTube channel and its partner network of 45 million subscribers. In the digital age, where play counts seem to be becoming a decisive factor in an artist’s career, Inside Records has become an essential label.
