Four years after Born a Loser, Myd returns with Mydnight, a second album already shaping up to be a must-hear this autumn. Released on Ed Banger Records, the iconic French Touch label, the record embodies everything we love about the producer: sunny, mischievous electronic music that plays with the boundaries between partying and melancholy.
French Touch has always been about light and groove, and Myd takes hold of it with his own signature: tracks where euphoria mingles with a gentle nostalgia, where you can smile in the middle of the night as if the day were never going to break. Mydnight is one of those albums that can turn a club floor into a field of emotions, without ever losing the free-spirited energy that is part of Ed Banger’s DNA.
Among the new tracks, a few favourites already stand out: “Our Home”, which opens the album with a vibrant energy tinged with nostalgia; “9am”, with Calcutta, a delicate, suspended track, almost a bubble outside of time; and “So High”, a groovy high point that reinvents French Touch in the colours of a new generation.
