Peacock Society: last dance for a pioneering festival

Peacock Society : dernière danse pour un festival fondateur

On Monday, Peacock Society published a statement that leaves no room for doubt: the 2026 edition will be the last. After 15 editions and just as many battles to stay on its feet (prefecture decisions, political U-turns, rising artist fees, the after-effects of Covid-19), the organisation has reached its limit. Producing two days of open air at the Hippodrome Paris-Vincennes was quite simply threatening its financial survival.

Rather than a flat cancellation, the team chose to pivot. The final format will take place between FVTVR and Wanderlust: four stages, an open-air and club experience, from daytime until the early hours, in a space transformed by immersive stage design. The promise remains intact: mixed sonic aesthetics, free movement between spaces, and artist line-ups unique in France.

A way of not leaving in a hurry.

Tickets already sold remain valid for the new format. Refund options have been sent out by email.

The end of Peacock Society says something bigger about the state of the sector: for years, independent French festivals have been absorbing costs that ticket capacity no longer covers. Some adapt, others disappear. Peacock is choosing a third way: ending on its own terms, with its values, for its audience. Fifteen editions. One last party. All of us, together.
