For this new edition of the festival of emerging talent and discovery, the digital distribution platform Spinnup is giving 16 artists the chance to play from 25 to 28 April on its new Spinnup Stage 2018. With no fewer than 200,000 festival-goers in town enjoying hundreds of free concerts on the festival’s outdoor stages, Printemps dans la Ville (held as part of Printemps de Bourges) is an excellent way for emerging artists to boost their visibility.
If you’re not familiar with Spinnup, it is a digital distribution service from Universal Music launched in 2013. It allows any unsigned artist to distribute their music on streaming platforms and music stores such as Spotify, Deezer, iTunes… The platform also lets these independent artists get in touch with many music industry professionals, as well as with the A&R teams of some of the biggest labels on the market.
This competition is therefore a golden opportunity for many talented artists. The rules for taking part are simple: artists must distribute a track for streaming via the Spinnup platform. The 200 artists with the most streams on their track will then be shortlisted, before a jury of music professionals picks the winners. The names of the 16 winners will be announced on 15 March.
