No need to travel thousands of kilometres in search of sunshine and turquoise water: Broken Back’s music is full of both. For almost seven years, this 32-year-old Breton artist, with a real gift for sharing his joie de vivre, has been writing and performing tracks that are as bright as they are festive. While some of them have become true anthems to freedom, like “Halcyon Birds” or “Happiest Man On Earth”, others, such as his brand-new single “Va Bene”, stand for both hope and courage.
This summer, the singer-songwriter and producer set himself a new personal challenge of one track a month, starting with “Away From Home”, and Broken Back isn’t just putting out new singles: he keeps betting on what he does best. A raspy voice delivering an unvarnished performance, delicate nylon guitars, and caxixi too: “Va Bene” is cooked up with all his signature ingredients for a guaranteed sunny getaway.
After playing live a few days earlier in Saint-Malo, his home town, the artist is currently preparing a brand-new tour for summer 2023.
