Fakear on tour: between Asia, the US and ecological awareness

Fakear en tournée : entre Asie, US et conscience écologique

On the eve of two new tours, Fakear explores the links between his musical world and his ecological commitment. Between Asia and the United States, the artist is reinventing the stage, favouring a more sustainable approach and deeper immersion in each destination. As Fakear gets ready to close out 2024 with two international tours, the French artist stands out not only for his spellbinding music, but also for his ecological commitment. In October, he will begin a run of shows that will take him for the first time to Indonesia, Vietnam, India, Cambodia and Hong Kong. These destinations were chosen with care, as much for their symbolism as for the influence they have had on his musical world. Fakear, real name Théo Le Vigoureux, has always drawn deep inspiration from Asian sounds, and these performances mark a return to the very essence of his artistic work.

But this tour isn’t only about geography. It carries a broader reflection on artists’ responsibility in the face of the climate emergency. Inspired by the work of Japanese director Hayao Miyazaki, Fakear is campaigning for musical degrowth: more thoughtful tours, less travel and more time spent immersed in each region visited. Far from frantic one-night-only tours, he champions an approach that takes into account the environmental impact of every journey.

In November, after five years away, he will reunite with his North American audience in New York, Montreal, Austin and Dallas. This return will come with a reworked set and new productions, reflecting Fakear’s artistic and personal evolution. For him, reconciling music and ecological awareness is now essential. “Take your time, reconnect with what matters”: that is his credo, and it resonates far beyond the stage. Tickets are already on sale.
