From tastemaker to record label, in a decade Get The Sound has risen to become one of the key players on the French and international electronic scene. Unleashing artists’ creativity with a forward-thinking vision, find out how the label is now home to one of the most complete catalogues around. When they created their own music discovery channel…
When they created their own music discovery channel in 2013, founders Pierre and François-Xavier never for a moment imagined the future it would have or the scale it would reach over the following ten years. Driven by a shared desire to share their favourite finds, but also to build a community around electronic music, Get the Sound quickly became one of the main hangouts for lovers of good vibes, and above all a true tastemaker.
Offering a sharp, fresh kind of music selection, with great classics revisited, each new upload became an event that kept drawing in new listeners. With 565,000 subscribers and more than 300 million views on YouTube to date, some of the channel’s videos have racked up several million plays on their own and have left their mark on a whole generation, as well as on the careers of many artists. From Henri Pfr to NTO, by way of Teemid, Felix Jahen and Thomas Jack, all now internationally known, every one of them grew up to the rhythm of the trends set by Get The Sound.
With its strong convictions and convincing results, Get the Sound became a real magnet for established and up-and-coming artists alike. So in 2019, the music channel founded its own label and fully stepped into its role as a talent incubator. With a clear and resolutely modern vision, GTS (Get The Sound) quickly signed several EPs, starting with one by Beauvois, spotted in his very early days.
After several months of artist development, the young independent label quickly grew its roster and opened up to new artists, each more talented than the last. Androma, Luca, Alex Keeper, Lavern, Friends & I, Homem, Altero, NVRT, Does it Matter, Francis Skyes (…): the record label keeps pushing further into talent development and is steadily building a hugely promising chill electro and deep house aesthetic.
While digital marketing and data analysis are at the heart of the label’s strategy, GTS never forgets to support its artists in their artistic direction and career development. A winning bet that saw it pass the 350 million cumulative streams mark in 2022 and establish itself as one of the leading players on the international electronic scene.
