Guy-Man and Étienne de Crécy: French Touch lands on the GTA VI soundtrack

Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album — Rockstar Games / Atlantic Records

Two French Touch pioneers in the credits of the most anticipated game of the decade. Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo produces the new Travis Scott track, Étienne de Crécy co-writes a song with Fred again..: the first six singles from GTA VI: The Album are out now.

Neon lights, a stolen car and a radio playing on a loop. In 2002, a whole generation discovered music while cruising the streets of Vice City. Twenty-four years later, Rockstar Games is heading back, and this time the soundtrack is made to measure: thirty-four previously unreleased tracks, due on 19 November alongside the game, six of which are already out.

Among them, two have a distinctly French flavour. Guy-Man produces “RHYNO”, Travis Scott’s new track, one of the very rare credits he has allowed himself since Daft Punk split in 2021, having always preferred the shadows to the spotlight. Étienne de Crécy, the man behind Motorbass and Super Discount, joins Fred again.. and Argentine duo CA7RIEL & Paco Amoroso on “Sexy Magic”.

There’s something of a full circle in this meeting. When the first Vice City came out, French Touch had just conquered the world. The people who invented it are now back to dress up the city that soundtracked a whole generation. Twenty-eight tracks are still to be revealed between now and November.
