Petit Biscuit finally slots in the missing piece. Movement is here: a record that brings together his two EPs and adds five unreleased tracks. Not just a compilation, but rather a snapshot of a producer who has learnt to blend the euphoria of the club with the intimacy of the studio.
We remember the pop turn of Discipline, then the club-ready energy of Movement I, before the more electronic retreat of Movement II, carried by “Let You Know” and its reunion with Sonia Ammar, as well as the addictive “Close Your Eyes”. Put end to end, the project tells the story of a trajectory: that of a kid from Rouen who became one of the strongest exports of the new generation of French touch.
As for the new tracks, the tone is set from the start. “Call Me Up”, with Eugénie, kicks things off; “New York” follows straight after. Petit Biscuit even treats himself to a return to his roots with “Midnight Sky, Pt. II”, a reworking of one of his most iconic tracks (still full of melancholy and delicacy, but now more contemporary). The whole thing will soon be on vinyl, with an edition in the works.
Melodic, sun-soaked, never static. Movement is out everywhere.
